Throughout time, men have waged war. Some for power, some for glory, some for honor — and some for love.

In ancient Greece, the passion of two of history's most legendary lovers, Paris, Prince of Troy and Helen, Queen of Sparta, ignites a war that will devastate a civilization. When Paris steals Helen away from her husband, King Menelaus, it is an insult that cannot be suffered. Familial pride dictates that an affront to Menelaus is an affront to his brother Agamemnon, powerful King of the Myceneans, who soon unites all the massive tribes of Greece to steal Helen back from Troy in defense of his brother's honor.

In truth, Agamemnon's pursuit of honor is corrupted by his overwhelming greed — he needs control of Troy to ensure the supremacy of his already vast empire. The walled city, under the leadership of King Priam and defended by mighty Prince Hector, is a citadel that no army has been able to breach. One man alone stands as the key to victory or defeat over Troy — Achilles, believed to be the greatest warrior alive.

Arrogant, rebellious and seemingly invincible, Achilles has no allegiance to anyone or anything, save his own glory. It is his insatiable hunger for eternal renown that leads him to attack the gates of Troy under Agamemnon's banner — but it will be love that ultimately decides his fate.

Two worlds will go to war for honor and power. Thousands will fall in pursuit of glory. And for love, a nation will burn to the ground.

With the fall of the republic of Rome came the era of Emperors. It was a time believed to be one purely of peace - Augustus had soothed a rebellion, and reformed the army of Rome, creating an unbeatable fighting force. For many years the Roman Empire expanded and became the most powerful force in all of the known world. Time past and so did the line of Emperors.

But something went wrong. A man by the name of Camillus Dexsius Julii was jealous of the move away from the original imperial line. Every day Vespasian grew in both popularity and power as a day spent by Camillus plotting his revenge soon, he had gathered up a small group of followers, which resulted in the assassination of Augustus.

Camillus immediately thought he would be the rightful heir to Augustus, but their was someone he didn't take into account; A man by the name of Manius Sabucius. He was the close friend and eldest step-son of Augustus. He was the one to rise to the newly opened position of power. Camillus was positively furious barely managing to keep his true intentions hidden from the ever watchful eyes of the imperial family.

With the new Emperor; Manius in control, will Camillus be able to successfully befriend him? Will he dethrone him like Augustus? And what of the Empire's borders? With Rome under the constant attack by the Barbarians, will Manius Sabucius avoid assassination? And can he keep those horrid barbarians out of Roman Territory?

Never Trust a Pretty Face

"Perhaps you could argue it wasn't my fault?" The man said with a shiver, his eyes flicking up from the ground. There was a hiss from the fire, as if someone was angry. And it was the truth, the hiss causing a shiver to go through the broken mans heart as he stared into the cool flames. "Not your fault?" Came a snide remark from the face that was slowly being licked by the orange glow. "I told you to kidnap the children not kill them. You where suppose to kill them later." Another hiss that sounded more like a snake then ever. Gleaming eyes staring into those of a broken man's. "Once again Goyle you have proved to this enter organization that you are useless. That you have no purpose here. You are a coward." The man breathed in angerly, the fire rising to show the man's fury. "Such a simple task I have given you, and yet somehow you manage to screw it up AGAIN." "Please my lord, I did nothing wrong, the kids attacked me. They wouldn't come and then things got out of hand." "SILENCE. I won't hear another word of this nonsense. You bring five more children to me or I'll kill you myself, do you understand?" "Y-yes my lord." "Good."
--
In late June five bodies where found, youngsters. All thrown up against the shrieking shack, all dead. Who these children were no one knew. They where Muggles, all of a different race. And all killed by magic. The wizarding community, at peace for over twenty years now suddenly went crazy. Who could have done this to these children? And who could be cruel enough to kill five innocent children. Responsibility was thrown around like wild fire, no one knew who these kids were. And no one knew who's responsibility it was to find out.
--
Harry Potter stepped up to the plate, although in his fifties he was still in the peak of his game. Concerned for the wizarding world that he had worked so hard to create in his youth. He didn't exactly know where to began. But he was worried something was going on, over the years many death eater like raids had shown up. Many people had disappeared. No the world was not as peaceful as many people would think. And Harry being one of the most powerful wizards in History was only one of the few to know about it.
--
But people saw differently, the Malfoys had always been suspected for the raids. Draco and his gang just like in school. Many didn't believe it, after all Draco seemed innocent, a nice guy some would say. Reformed. But he was not all that people made him out to be. He was indeed angry. He was indeed mad. And he was going to get Harry f**king Potter back. Even if the man had saved his d**n life. For years he went to people's doors. For years he and his wife worked to rebuild the Death Eaters. And they did, Draco was more determined then ever to get Harry back. And no f**king Potter was going to live. For a couple years they remained silent, hidden. Slowly taking down the enemy one by one. They needed to make it look less suspicious. As if the deaths where normal. As if the odd disappearance wasn't going to change anything.
--
Letters began to reach Harry, warning and threats. Mainly about how long he was going to live, and how his family was going next. Harry was determined to find the killers, to take who ever the hell it was down. He started the Order again. Against the Minister of Magic's command. But not before more deaths could happen. Not before more disappearances and threats came his way. Not until something really bad happened.
--
To be continued.

RP Explanation // The World of Alagaesia // Character Creation

Chronicle the world of the Dragon Riders in all of its former glory...

It is two-thousand years before the birth of the traitor Rider Galbatorix and the destruction he was to wreak upon the land and inhabitants of Alagaesia. The Dragon Riders are united, numerous, immensely powerful, and unspeakably influential. Few powers in existence can rival theirs and outwardly, all is a semblance of peace and prosperity.

But Alagaesia is a large place, populated by races diverse and dissimilar. The most cunning of Shades continue to elude their hunters; the Urgals remain restless and hunger for land; without external threat, the Human, Elven, Dwarven kingdoms have turned upon themselves and domestic crisis begin to stir. But the most disturbing trend of all is the disagreements and strife arising within the ranks of the Dragon Riders themselves. Yet these are the days of the Dragon Riders at height of their power. From within these origins, what will become your legacy?

Inheritance: Origins is an entry-level RP designed and run by advanced roleplayers to show beginners how to roleplay or help intermediate roleplayers become advanced. It's based off the fantasy world of Paolini's Eragon and Eldest but no knowledge of the books is required to play. Just like an advanced roleplay, you'll see an interesting storyline, balanced characters, and dynamic writing, but rather than expect these skills from you before you join, our entire goal is to teach them to you. As an added bonus, rather than limiting the number of Dragon Rider characters on the board, we encourage them as the preferred character type for the roleplay!

So come, Rider, and tell us of your part in the legend.

The year is 2,118.
Catherine Harris has just been elected for her sixth
term in the presidential office.

The world is in chaos.

Twenty years ago, Mrs. Catherine Harris gained the title of the fifth woman president of the United States of America. In the years before Harris became the President, she established a large number of people loyal to her in both the Senate and the House of Representatives. Now, with Congress in the palm of her hand, Harris set out to change the Constitution. She eliminated the Bill of Rights by changing them to only protect those who were not considered a danger to the United States. Of course, the entire public had the possibility of being a danger to their fellow man. With this complete, Congress passed an amendment that required all citizens to have an electronic identification tag implanted in their wrist. The identification tag stated only the person’s name, job, previous crimes, and IQ.

Slowly, those with trivial jobs were sent to manual labor camps, and money was eliminated. Instead, everyone was given a meal card to be used at the local grocery stores and a place to live according to their intelligence and vocation. People with important careers such as surgeons and politicians lived in the lap of luxury, while farmers and sales clerks were given very little. Even children were not immune to the President. They were submitted to tests every year, regardless of age. Those that did not reach expectations were not allowed continue their education and instead were sent away from their families to labor camps. Those who continued their education had careers chosen for them.

Needless to say, people are revolting.

However, the USA is flourishing under Harris' rule. The economy is booming, and Harris has no qualms with renovating public places, even those in the labor camps, as well as charity organizations. A large percentage of the population agrees with Harris' ideals because of this.

Ironically, those children who exceeded expectations were also taken away, this time to research labs. Their brains were modified and surgically improved to allow them to be far more intelligent as well as more athletic. They were enhanced and trained to be perfect assassins. At first, this was as far as the scientists funded by Catherine Harris went. However, at Harris’ urging, they branched out. Slowly and painstakingly, they melded the minds of the already superior children to the minds of animals. Many of the first attempts failed. However, the successful experiments were observed to take on the mannerisms of the animals ‘linked’ to them, and vice versa. Humans linked to predators developed a predatory nature, and those linked to prey acquired the flight and camouflage responses that their linked animals had.

Upon further experiments, the newly dubbed Linked were able to fully ‘communicate’ with the animal connected to their brain. However, upon questioning, it became apparent that communication was not the only effect. The mind of the human and animal had effectively ‘melded’ together, leaving only one mind for the two beings to share. The link was rudimentary, and it was more like two minds shoved into one than a seamless link. However, the human interests were dominant. Needless to say, President Harris was both intrigued and ecstatic at the news. Active FBI and CIA agents, as well as the police, were, in this way, crudely linked to the minds of vicious dogs. However, this did not completely satisfy Harris, for she aimed for an elite assassin.

In time, the scientists were able to surgically induce acute intelligence into the mind of chosen animals before linking them with much more skill to the already trained children and teens. The result was amazing. It was a different sort of link: one which allowed both animal and human to keep their own minds. However, there was a small thread of a link between the minds. It allowed aimed communication and nothing else to pass from the human's brain to the animal's brain and vice versa. Human and animal were partners, with the same predator or prey instincts and close personalities.

These experiments were locked away for research purposes only, and the scientists moved on. They were no use to President Harris- after all, they catered to their own purposes and not hers. So, the scientists became psychologists. They slowly brainwashed the next batch of children into almost mindless followers of President Harris. However, the first attempt was not entirely successful. The children were brainwashed properly, but everything went wrong after they were Linked to animals. The animals projected scenes of cruelty from the labs into the minds of the experiments, essentially turning them against the labs funded by Harris and all that they represented. In a spurt of devious planning that went unnoticed by both the scientists and psychologists, the new Linked organized an escape with the Linked that had been locked away for research purposes. The older Linked, already responding to the animals' flight responses, jumped at the chance. With their intelligence and strength, the mob of Linked pairs rather easily overpowered the FBI agents that guarded the labs.

Over the course of months, almost every single Linked pair broke out of the 14 laboratories that were stationed in different states of the US. They quickly disappeared, and the psychologists were forced to admit that their methods had failed. Harris was furious, and, needless to say, a new crop of psychologists were found and more Linked were made. Over the years, over a hundred successful and loyal Linked pairs were made. In the year of 2,118, all of the Linked were released on a training mission: hunt down the rebel Linked and exterminate them.

In this time of mayhem and bloodshed,
who will you
protect?

What will you give: your life,
or your freedom?

But failed to stop the exploding man...

When Peter Petrelli exploded, decimating New York City, America was thrown into chaos. They turned to Nathan to lead them, electing him president. Nathan had no idea what had happened to his beloved little brother, Kirby Plaza having (apparently) been empty save for Peter and Sylar. Still grieving, Nathan took up his new status as President, believing his little brother dead and gone.

Unable to face up to the fact that she had been too late to prevent her uncle destroying the city and still vehemently believing Peter is alive, Claire fled when Mr Bennet told him he was taking their family on the run from the Company, determined to find her uncle. Since people all across the world have been discovered as evolved humans, many of them have been found murdered by those terrified that they would cause a disaster like that of New York. As far as the Bennets know, Claire has fallen victim to these killings and as rumours begin circulating of a certain ... "brand" of all too familiar killings, Mr Bennet has become more determined than ever to find his daughter again

But Claire was right all along. Peter had survived the blast and was living in the ruined Devaux Building, full of remorse over the destruction he himself caused. Yet when Claire finds him again, can she convince him to take action against an old enemy and help her show the world that the evolved humans are nothing to be feared?

It's up to the evolved humans to unite before darkness falls on the world as they know it...

In the Realm of Methar many of the old bloodlines were lost in the End’var War of 576 T.Y. (Tellan’s Years), when the line of the old king came to an end and the great families of the realm scrambled to claim the throne, cutting down countless members of the nobility in order to raise up their likelihood of gaining the crown.

At the end of it the House Craen won the throne, and it was a bloody victory. The House left a trail of bodies in its wake, and some of them were closer than mere friends. But there was no need to despair, for in the many years that followed the Kings and Queens of House Craen proved themselves exceptional rulers and the realm was plunged into an era of bliss and prosperity. However, there were places where enmity still harbored amongst the nobility.

The Houses of Beldevier and Vathaer were all that remained of the old bloodlines, with the exception of the Royal House. Both had supported different families in the End’var War, and though neither had been vying for the throne their secret competition for the Regency had compelled members from both Houses to commit grave acts against each other.

The year is 1123, more than 500 years since the End’var War, and the troubled waters between House Beldevier and House Vathaer are as strong as ever. Stronger, even, for the Heir to House Beldevier has just been slain, and the Beldeviers are calling for blood.

Officially Heir Garion vy Beldevier’s death is labeled as a hunting accident, but his family knows better. The offending arrow that took his life was no crude shaft of a forester, nor was it of the slender yew used by the Beldeviers’ armorer. It was black ash, used only by the House Vathaer.

Garion’s death served as the spark to set alight the blaze between the two Houses, and the situation has grown tense in recent months. None will go about without a guard, for the risk is too great.

And for the first time in nearly half a millennium there is war upon the horizon. King Welfram IV can no longer control his nobles, and his failing health is more of a hindrance than ever before. There is even talk of a coup, something that frightens the King down to the marrow of his bones. He never married, and with no heir, no close relatives, and dissatisfied nobles, it seems likely that the long reign of the House Craen is finally coming to an end.

And in the midst of this remains the feud between the two oldest and most renowned Houses in the realm, a feud that promises no easy end.

xx. The Dawn of the Brotherhood .xx

The Cryptic Brotherhood has been thriving for hundreds of years. Tales of the Old have been passed down generations; the names of the founding cats have never been forgotten, and the stories of the triumphant battles, and trying times have been brought along as well. Peace has become the only expectancy of life; for all the surrounding life forms that used to be the enemies of the Brotherhood have been vanquished. Badgers, foxes, and even snakes are absent, and have been for longer than the lifetimes of the current leaders. So the Tales of the Old are really only strange myths to young ones; the battles with the badgers are only something they can dream of, for they’ve never seen one with their own eyes.
Not even humans have crossed the paths of the felines; they know nothing of mankind, nor kittypets.
They are the only felines of the area; with only themselves to hunt for, and no serious threats around.

xx. The legend of the start .xx

The legend begins with a tom named Seattle, and a beautiful she-cat named Nizhoni. The two cats are the founders of the Cryptic Brotherhood. They say that the cats came from worlds apart, traveling over seas of sand, and raging waters.
Once arriving in the homeland, there were already cats, but the felines were scattered. Through peaceful acts, Seattle and Nizhoni rounded the cats up, and started a colony.
For seasons, it thrived, the cats laying down new laws.
Soon, the colony was too large for its territory and expanded, east and south, but never west.
Seattle and Nizhoni ruled their entire lifetimes, keeping watch over everything they had built up. The Brotherhood Code was established before they died, and so life was carried on after their passing.
Not long after, the still living cats reported seeing Ancestors. After many seasons, it was concluded that Seattle and Nizhoni still lived, in the afterlife, and continued to keep watch. The heavenly place where they resided was called Elysian Fields, and all of the dead and faithful that went there became The Ancestors.

To this day, Seattle and Nizhoni are said to guard The Cryptic Brotherhood and its members from their starry post.

Made in only 1957 Veneficus is one of the newer schools in the wizard world. It was founded by a lady named Mayia Vene who wanted to create the first school for upcoming students in Canada and the Northern United States of America. However when she found the perfect piece of land to start building upon it turned out that the land was occupied by a herd of giant winged horses. Instead of kicking the herd out of their land or having to find a new location Mayia and Ficus (the lead stallion) made a non verbal compromise. Mayia could build the school in return to offer protection from other predators that lurked throughout the region. Since that day the school’s mascot has been the horse. Horses in the herd only came in four colors so each clan has a different colored horse.
In 2006 Mayia passed away and left the school to her only child, Lilly Vene, who became headmistress. Every year winged horses take off from the surrounding school woods and land at the student’s house. Each horse can carry many suitcases and a human on its back.

Veneficus is a totally original wizard magic school roleplay. With the old head master’s death a new era has rained over the school. With many professor spots open and new students flowing in the upcoming year is showing all of the signs of being the most exciting, ever.
There are four clans which the palm reader centaur, Fore, can place the students into. Virtus, Ocis, Plebs and Sceleris. Which group will you get into and will you lead your clan to victory? Only time will truly tell.
